It is with great sadness that the Department announces the passing of Dr. Robert Bruce, MBP Professor Emeritus. Dr. Bruce passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022 at the age of 92.
Dr. Bruce joined MBP in 1965. During his time with the Department, he used his innovative approach to research to mentor countless graduate students and helped shape the Department into what it is today. In a career spanning more than 60 years, Dr. Bruce published more than 200 papers and made significant contributions to several different areas of cancer research. His novel approaches to the study of cancer prevention have been widely applied internationally.
Our deepest condolences go out to Robert’s family, friends and colleagues. He will be deeply missed by the Medical Biophysics community.
