It is with great sadness that the Department announces the passing of Dr. Gordon Whitmore, MBP Professor Emeritus. Dr. Whitmore passed away on the evening of December 30, at the age of 90.
As a dedicated member of MBP for many years, Dr. Whitmore made countless contributions to the Department, including serving as Department Chair from 1971 to 1981. Throughout his time at MBP, he mentored countless MBP graduate students and contributed massively in shaping the field of medical physics in Canada and around the world.
Our deepest condolences go out to Gordon’s family, friends and colleagues. He will be deeply missed by the Medical Biophysics community.
