MBP Student Receives Autism Scholar Award

Felipe Morgado

Felipe Morgado

MBP MD/PhD student Felipe Morgado has been awarded the 2020 Autism Scholars Doctoral Award for his outstanding research work.

The Autism Scholars Awards celebrate researchers who are working to shape novel treatments for children with autism and recognize innovators who are working on new discoveries that can have a positive impact in the field of autism.

Morgado, a PhD student in the lab of MBP scientist Dr. Jason Lerch, is the recipient of the $20,000 Doctoral Award in recognition of his exploration into the ways the connections of the brain differ in people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Through his research, Morgado aims to demonstrate how localized treatments that modulate brain activity to specific regions in the brain may potentially help provide symptom relief and marked improvements to quality of life for people living with ASD.

Please join the department in congratulating Felipe Morgado on this remarkable achievement.
