As a student in the top 5% of Medical Biophysics trainees, Cook was selected to attend the national poster competition. The (CSHRF) offers a one-week programme aimed to network, showcase and recognize health research trainees through an adjudicated presentation of their research, participation in CIHR-led career development seminars and the presentation of a symposium by world renowned, leading–edge scientists. Generally held at the University of Manitoba, the 2021 event was held virtually along with the annual Gairdner Symposium.

Moses was fortunate to win Gold Poster prize at the national level for his poster presentation. In addition, he was invited to the Lindau Award competition with a select group of students to be judged by the 2021 Gairdner Laureates and was also honoured with the Gairdner award for his work.
