MBP Postdoc Receives Polanyi Prize

Dr. Fumin Guo, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of MBP researcher Dr. Graham Wright, has been awarded with a 2021 Polanyi Prize in Physiology and Medicine. He was recognized for research that ‘seeks to refine the treatment of ventricular tachycardia or unusually fast heartbeat, which can result in sudden death’.

John Charles Polanyi prizes are funded by the government of Ontario and administered by the Council of Ontario Universities to 'recognize innovative researchers who are continuing postdoctoral work or have recently been appointed as faculty at an Ontario university'. Each of the five winners receives $20,000 in recognition of their exceptional research in the fields of chemistry, literature, physics, economic science and physiology/medicine.
