MBP scientist Dr. Meaghan O’Reilly has been announced as the recipient of the 2020 Frederic Lizzi Early Career Award.

The Frederic Lizzi Early Career Award was established in 2008 by the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) to honor Dr. Frederic L. Lizzi, a pioneer in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic applications of ultrasound.

This award recognizes an individual who is relatively early in their professional career, who has been active in the general area of therapeutic ultrasound, and who participates in societies related to therapeutic ultrasound, such as the ISTU. The recipient of this award is recognized for their substantial contributions to the advancement of therapeutic ultrasound through publication in scientific literature, the development of commercial techniques or devices, and/or clinical practice.

Dr. O’Reilly was to be granted this distinction in person at the annual ISTU Symposium. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the 2020 Symposium was cancelled, and the award will now be granted virtually via an online ceremony happening on June 25, 2020.

Please join the Department in congratulating Dr. Meaghan O’Reilly on this outstanding achievement.
