Dr. Lothar Lilge awarded 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award at IPA Conference

Dr. Lothar Lilge (left) receiving the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from IPA Past-President, Dr. Tayyaba Hassan (center), and IPA President, Dr. Luis Arnaut (right)MBP researcher Dr. Lothar Lilge recieved the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 17th International Photodynamic Association (IPA) World Congress, held in Boston, Massachusetts.

This award recognizes Dr. Lilge's significant career contributions to the field of photodynamic therapy (PDT). Dr. Lilge is also a Senior Scientist at the Ontario Cancer Institute and is considered to be a leader in translational PDT research and clinical development.

In the Department, Dr. Lilge's research is focused on enabling/improving the use of light for clinical diagnostic and/or therapeutic applications, and the use of light as a microscopic tool for biomedical research.
