Two MBP graduate students have been awarded the CIHR Vanier Scholarship for 2019.
Alex Dhaliwal, an MD/PhD student in the Zheng lab, was granted the 2019 award based on his Cancer research proposal entitled 'Overcoming Obstacles in Cancer Nanomedicine Delivery using a Versatile In Situ Ultrasound-Triggered Microbubble-to-Nanoparticle Conversion'.
Lydia Liu, a PhD student from the Kislinger and Reimand labs, was granted the 2019 award based on her Genomic research proposal entitled 'Genomic and Pathological Consequences of Obesity on Prostate Cancer'.
Vanier Scholars demonstrate leadership aptitudes and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and/or engineering and health. Selection criteria is based on a combination of academic excellence, research potential and leadership skills.
