Submit a Poster for the 2020 Virtual Open House

If you are an MBP Faculty member or student interested in submitting a poster to be included in the asynchronous poster display at the 2020 MBP Virtual Open House, poster submission instructions are below.

Please try to limit to one poster per lab. All submitted posters will have to be approved before they will be displayed. Please have your poster uploaded and added to the appropriate link(s) below by no later than Wednesday, October 28th to ensure the poster links can be sent to Open House registrants a few days prior to the event.
 

MBP Virtual Open House Poster Submission Instructions

1. Register for a free VoiceThread account at https://voicethread.com/register/. Please note: According to VoiceThread.com, the site has been ‘optimized for best use in Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. If one browser doesn’t work, please try the other’. Also, the site reminds users to ‘update to the latest version of your browser’ for optimal usage if you experience difficulties in using either of the optimized browsers with their site.

2. Create your presentation by uploading a PDF of your poster in your VoiceThread account. If your presentation is in PowerPoint (PPT), or another presentation software format, please save it as a ‘PDF’ as a PDF will display most accurately in VoiceThread. You also have the option of recording of a short voiceover describing your work. Voice-overs can be recorded by using the ‘comment’ tool found directly in VoiceThread. In the ‘Playback Options’ section of the ‘Thread Settings’ for your poster/presentation (found at the top right-hand corner of the page under ‘Options’ when you are creating the VoiceThread for your presentation), please ensure you de-select the download function and the export function. This will block anyone from saving your poster presentation to their computer.

3. Submit your poster for the Virtual MBP Open House by using the appropriate ‘ThreadBox’ separated by research theme. To do this, while logged into your own VoiceThread account, access the correct ThreadBox link below according to the research theme you feel your poster best fits under. If your poster fits into more than one of the research themes/categories below, you may add it to multiple ‘ThreadBoxes’. (please limit to 3 theme links, if possible).

Once you click on the link(s) you wish to add your poster to, click ‘Add your own’ (found in the top right-hand corner of each ThreadBox link) > choose ‘Select from my VoiceThreads’ to upload your poster w/optional voiceover comment. The poster will then be sent to MBP admin who will approve the upload before it appears.
