Medical Biophysics alumna Dr. Mamatha Bhat has been awarded the prestigious Polanyi Prize for her work in improving long-term outcomes for liver-transplant patients.
The Polanyi Prize is a $20,000 award given annually to five outstanding researchers in the early stages of their career who are pursuing post-doctoral studies or who have recently been appointed faculty at an Ontario university. The prizes are distributed in five fields: chemistry, physics, economic science, physiology/medicine and literature. Dr. Bhat is the recipient of the medicine award for 2020.
