The Department of Medical Biophysics offers state-of-the art facilities located at several research institutes within the University of Toronto biomedical research community. The Department is largely based within Princess Margaret Hospital/Ontario Cancer Institute, MaRS and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with additional faculty located at Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital/Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute and Canadian Blood Services. Examples of some of the modern equipment and facilities available include two 800 MHz NMR spectrometers, X-ray crystallography equipment, in vivo animal imaging, a biophotonics laboratory and high-resolution ultrasound imaging systems. This infrastructure is supported by excellent core facilities within each research institute.
